Import Rates Using a Template
Prerequisites
- Create the rate template you intend to use. See Create a Rate Template. Or, verify which rate template to use to import the data. Rate templates may be set up for specific named rate classes.
- The rate file with the current rates is available to import into your project. This is typically a defined file with data exported from another system such as accounting with specific field columns. You will need to know where this file is located so you can select it.
Follow these steps to update rates in your rate structure using a rate template and a defined data file exported from another system.
- Select in the Navigation Menu. The Manage Rates tab window displays.
- Click on the dropdown in the Ribbon Menu and select the rate structure you want to update from the list.
- Click in the Ribbon Menu. A separate Import Template Entry window opens. The Data tab window displays.
- Click on the dropdown and select the rate template you want from the list. The template auto populates the column headings in the Data tab window (row 1).
- Click on the ellipsis button to navigate to the file you want to import.
- Select the file and click . The data from the import file populates the rows in the Data tab window. Any lookup settings such as the rate class name and description from the template auto populate the applicable columns.
- Click . A Messages window displays the results of the import process. Read the messages to verify the rates imported without any errors.
- Click .
- Optional. Close the Manage Rates tab.
